Questions, answered
What is a LifeTech stream?
A SHOUTcast or Icecast server that you broadcast to from your DJ software (or let the AutoDJ play your uploaded music). Put the stream URL in your parcel's media settings and everyone on your land hears it.
How fast is setup?
Instant. Pay at a terminal or on the HUD and your stream is created automatically. Within moments our bot sends you a notecard with your server, port and passwords, plus an IM with your Media Panel and Billing Panel logins.
SHOUTcast or Icecast: which should I pick?
Both work in Second Life and both cost the same. SHOUTcast is what most SL DJ software is set up for; pick Icecast if your encoder or station already uses it.
What is AutoDJ?
AutoDJ plays your uploaded music around the clock when no DJ is live, so your venue never goes silent. Upload tracks and build playlists in the Media Panel. When a DJ connects, they take over; when they leave, AutoDJ carries on.
Can other DJs use my stream? What about a club?
A live stream is personal: only you may broadcast on it, and it can't be shared with other DJs. If you run a club or venue where several DJs play, get an AutoDJ package. It takes multiple DJ accounts, so each DJ streams with their own login, and AutoDJ plays between sets.
How do I renew?
At any LifeTech terminal (RENEW MY STREAM), with the HUD (RENEW), or turn on auto-renew in the Billing Panel and keep L$ in your panel wallet. Our bot IMs you reminders before your stream expires.
What happens if my stream expires?
It's suspended, not deleted straight away. Renew within the grace period and it comes back with the same port and settings. Streams not renewed within the grace period are removed.
Will my price go up?
No. Your stream keeps the price you bought it at. Price changes only apply to new purchases.
I had a Lethal Streamz stream. What changes?
Lethal Streamz is now LifeTech Streams. Your stream, your price and your in-world terminals and HUD keep working; you'll simply see the LifeTech name in IMs and on the panel.
Where do I log in?
The Billing Panel at streams.lifetech.systems handles renewals, wallet and auto-renew. The Media Panel link and login in your notecard handle the stream itself, AutoDJ and music. Forgot your password? Use 'Forgot password?' on the login page and the bot IMs you a reset code.
